Few days ago I felt a little tired of continuing my Victory work – I felt that I had to switch to something different for some days. I decided to create the Atomium – a very impressive building located in Bruxelles/Belgium everyone of you surely has seen before.
Right from the beginning I decdided to get it as detailled as possible. And I planned to work out the original architectual structure of the spheres - which of course meant I couldn't use Blender primitives such as UV spheres or ICO spheres but had to build them on my own, setting them together from spherical tris.
I love the night time renders including the really decorative illumination. And I couldn't resist adding a video clip showing some light animation - which can be seen at the original Atomium as well, at least from time to time.
